It has always been important to monitor the quality and any variation in the quantity of petroleum products as they move through the supply chain. A lack in understanding the complexities of oil cargo measurement, sampling and custody transfer procedures could mean the difference between a profit or loss. If operators do not understand how to keep proper checks and balances at each stage of the oil movement resulting in cargo loss, day-to-day quantity adjustments become difficult to resolve amicably and may become time consuming and expensive. As the price of oil rises and trading margins tighten, understanding loss control and knowing how to handle quality claims has become an essential skill set for oil company employees worldwide.
Asdem’s two-day workshop on voyage analysis and loss control, STS operations, blending and custody transfer operations is for industry operations professionals who wish to gain a detailed and practical understanding of this complex subject to improve the efficiency and accountability of their logistics, the work of the inspectors appointed by them, how to analyse the inspection reports produced and become proactive problem solvers. Senior oil industry loss control specialist Craig Wall from Petrus Cargo Assurance Services Limited will conduct this advanced-level course together with Asdem Managing Director Andrew Wilding using real-life, thought-provoking case studies throughout the workshop to maximise learning. We will encourage delegate participation!
