Event description

This free workshop presented by the leading independent oil industry consultancy Asdem will be held on the afternoon of Friday 25 January from 4:00 – 5:45 pm and immediately before the LTOPS party in the evening. It is designed specifically for, and is aimed at, the practical day-to-day working requirements of oil industry operations professionals. This presentation will consider instructions requesting a tanker to go to and wait at a place/anchorage – in what circumstances can operators issue such instructions? Can an owner refuse such orders? What does the contract say? – are there limits on what operational changes can be made? What are the rights and obligations of owners and charterers when changes are made and accepted? Does an implied contract arise and what are the consequences and what are the terms of such an implied contract if it arises?

ANDREW WILDING, Managing Director, Asdem

Andrew Wilding received an honours degree in law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1986) and went on to post graduate studies at London University in the design construction and operation of oil tankers (1987). Following Roger’s retirement in 2016 Andrew was appointed the Managing Director of Asdem.
